Head north to check out the
Fort Union Trading Post. A national historic site, Fort Union is known as the most important fur trading post on the upper Missouri from 1829 to 1867. Visit the Bourgeois House Visitor Center bookstore where you can browse a wide variety of educational items and authentic historical reproductions.
Birdwatcher Bonus: Enjoy the drive and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife! Birders can spot species like great blue herons, turkey vultures, American kestrels, yellow warblers and more in this region.

3. Fairview
In Fairview, grab lunch at the
Double Barrel Saloon. Then check out the enormous Fairview Lift Bridge, which stretches 1,320 feet across the Yellowstone River, before heading back to Sidney.

Seven Sisters Wildlife Management Area is an exceptionally magical place to gaze up at the cosmos. Head south and go one mile east of Crane.
