Trafton Trail

The Trafton Trail snuggles closely to the meandering lazy Milk River and as you wander along the trail you will see an abundance of birds, rabbits, beautiful foliage, old historic fire pits, a glimpse of the Old Red Barn across the river and a very nostalgic old US Highway 2 bridge, and maybe a peek or two of deer crossing the river!! Along your trek down the trail you will come out to a spectacular view the Milk River and into the historical section of the trail. You will be joined to the Phillips County Museum, Great Plains Dinosaur Museum, the spectacular H.G. Robinson House and Gardens. The newest addition to the history of Malta is the Modes of Transportation Museum located a short distance from the Robinson House. This section of the trail is rich in history, so stay awhile get in your walk, let those kids and dogs out to stretch their legs, burn off some energy and enjoy our beautiful Trafton Trail and take in that rich history!! The Trafton Trail was built in 2010 by Malta Trails, Eagle Scout Project and many community members, businesses and organization coming together and completed this 1 mile nature trail.

Directions

Turn off US Hwy 2 at the intersection of 191 South. To the north you will see Trafton Park and the public restroom stop.
